İstanbul home removals: across all 39 districts

When moving within İstanbul, the difficult part is often not the drive but the space outside each door: parking, narrow streets, floors and lifts. We plan around those details.

Our İstanbul home removals service covers all 39 districts, on both the Asian and European sides. We are based in Sancaktepe. Whether a family is moving within the same neighbourhood in Kadıköy or from Üsküdar to Beylikdüzü, we follow the same sequence: first we understand both addresses, then we plan the day.

District map

On the map, Asian-side districts are blue and European-side districts are green. Select a district to see its name, or switch to satellite view to look at the street layout. Where a district page is available, you can open it directly from the map; those pages include neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood access profiles, muhtarlık offices and rail information. A muhtarlık is the neighbourhood headman's office, where residence is registered.

Boundaries from OpenStreetMap; click a district or a marker for details. Sources and licences are listed on the data sources page.

Moving between the two sides

The Asian and European sides are connected by bridges and the Eurasia Tunnel, but not every crossing is open to every vehicle at every time. Which crossing the vehicle can use, and when, is part of the plan for a move between the two sides. We discuss the loading time for a period when traffic is generally lighter. Even if you are staying on the same side, congestion on main roads can shape how the day goes.

At the door: parking, streets and lifts

  • Where the vehicle can stop: On narrow or steep streets, or roads with parking on both sides, how close the vehicle can get to the door affects the work. If possible, try to keep the space outside clear the day before and let your neighbours know.
  • Building and site rules: Tell the building management in advance if you need to use the lift. Some residential complexes allow moves only at set times; checking this ahead of time can make the day easier.
  • Lifts and stairs: If the building lift is small, the stairwell is narrow or the floor is high, belongings may be moved in or out using an exterior lift. We can decide together during planning whether one is needed.

How moving day works

  • Survey and planning: we assess the volume of belongings, the conditions at both addresses, the timing and the team.
  • Packing: you can leave the packing to us or prepare the boxes yourself.
  • Dismantling: large furniture is taken apart at the old home.
  • Moving: belongings are loaded into the vehicle and taken to the new address.
  • Assembly, placing and final check: furniture is reassembled at the new home, everything is put in its room, and we check the delivery together.

What affects the price of İstanbul removals

Even when the drive across the city is short, distance alone does not determine the price. These are among the factors we consider:

  • The type and size of the home or workplace: 1+0, 2+1, 4+1 and above. In Turkish listings, the first number is bedrooms and the second is the living room; 2+1 means two bedrooms plus a living room.
  • The floor and lift situation at both addresses
  • The distance between the two addresses
  • Packing, dismantling and assembly, or additional work such as moving a piano or safe
  • Your chosen date

The few days before your move

  • If you are packing your own boxes, write the destination room on each one; this makes placing them quicker.
  • Sketch roughly where each piece of furniture will go in the new home.
  • Arrange separately for children and pets that day; the door will be opening and closing frequently.
  • Photograph the final electricity, water and natural gas meter readings at the old home.
  • Keep your wallet, keys, charger, medication and a day's essentials in a separate bag.

What we need for a quote

  • The district and neighbourhood for both addresses
  • The type of home and number of rooms
  • The floor, lift availability and approximate lift size at both addresses
  • The street conditions: is it narrow or steep, and is there somewhere for the vehicle to stop?
  • Whether the residential complex has rules about moving times
  • Any packing, dismantling or assembly needs, special items, and your preferred date

A few photos of the entrance and stairwell can make the plan much clearer, even over the phone.

Frequently asked questions

I am moving only a few streets away. Do you still need to see my belongings?

Yes. A shorter distance does not make the job smaller: the volume of belongings, both buildings, the floors and the lifts are still the same. Without seeing these in photos, a video or a survey, we cannot plan the right team and time.

There is no lift in the building, or my belongings will not fit in it. What can be done?

Belongings can be carried down the stairs or moved in or out using an exterior lift. The right option depends on the floor, the stairwell and the size of the items.

How long does a move from the Asian side to the European side take?

It depends on the size of the home, the floors, the lift and the traffic that day. Rather than give an arbitrary number of hours, we discuss the expected time for your move while planning it.

Do I need to be at home on moving day?

It is best if you, or someone who can make decisions on your behalf, is there for loading and delivery. You can decide together where belongings should go, and carry out the final check together too.

Where to next?

Tell us where from, where to and when. A few photos are usually enough for a quote.
