Packing services
Packing is often the part of a move that takes the most time. From plates to wardrobes, we wrap your belongings with suitable materials and label them room by room, so you can see what goes where in your new home.
For our packing service, we work through your home room by room: we choose suitable materials for each item, close and label the boxes, and get everything ready to move.
Which materials are used for what
- Boxes: books, kitchenware, clothes and small items. Heavy items go in small boxes; lighter items in larger ones.
- Bubble wrap: plates, glasses, glassware and electronic equipment.
- Stretch film: keeps doors and drawers from opening and protects upholstered sofas from dust.
- Blankets: protect furniture surfaces from scratches and knocks.
- Corner protectors: for the corners of tables, mirrors, pictures and cupboards.
How we pack
We pack room by room. Each box is labelled with the room name and a short note about its contents; boxes containing fragile items are marked separately. Plates are wrapped in bubble wrap and stood upright in a box, with gaps filled so nothing shifts. We use the original box for a television where available; otherwise, we wrap the screen in bubble wrap and use corner protectors. Screws and small parts from dismantled furniture go into a bag, which is taped to the relevant piece so nothing has to be searched for during reassembly at the new address.
How much of the packing would you like us to handle?
You can leave the packing of your whole home to us. If you would like to pack some items yourself, we can agree during the quotation stage which rooms and belongings we will handle.
What affects the price
Packing is an additional service, and its cost depends directly on the type and size of the home: a 1+1 home and a 4+1 home do not need the same number of boxes. The total moving price also depends on the floors and lift arrangements at both addresses, the distance, other additional services such as dismantling and assembly, and the moving date.
Getting ready yourself
- Before moving, sort out items you no longer use; fewer belongings mean fewer boxes
- Carry valuables, important documents and medicines yourself in a separate bag
- Prepare a first-night box with essentials such as bed linen, towels, a phone charger, a kettle and a few plates
- Keep a thick marker to hand; write labels on the side of each box, not the top, so they can be read when boxes are stacked
Where to next?
