Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about planning, quotes, moving day and specialist items. Share your addresses and details of what is moving, and we can discuss a plan that suits you.

Planning and quotes

How far ahead should I contact you?

Contact us once your date is known so we can review both addresses and what needs moving. Early contact helps when building rules, a survey or a staged business move affect planning. If the date is close, send the addresses, item photos and availability; we can assess the options. Contact us.

Do you need to survey the property before the move?

A face-to-face survey is not needed for every move. Photos or a short video, both addresses, and floor and lift details often support an initial assessment. If volume or access is unclear, or a business move has several stages, we may suggest a survey while preparing your quote.

What is included when you prepare a quote?

Your quote reflects the amount and type of belongings, distance, floors and lift access, packing, and any furniture dismantling or assembly. Specialist items, date and storage needs may also affect the plan. Send photos or video with both addresses for a clearer assessment, or try our volume calculator.

Can you move us at weekends or outside working hours?

We can assess a weekend or out-of-hours request with your date, addresses and building rules. Availability depends on team planning and the hours permitted at both buildings, so confirm a particular day and time in advance. For a workplace move, share your preferred window when discussing office removals.

Moving day

How many movers will be on the team?

Team size depends on the amount and type of belongings, floors, lift and stair access, and the scope of work. There is no single number for every move. We assess photos or video, both addresses and access details, then confirm the team plan with you before moving day.

How do you protect belongings during the move?

Depending on the plan, we wrap furniture and suitable items with packing materials and secure them in the vehicle. Tell us about fragile pieces or anything needing particular protection so we can agree how to prepare it. See our packing services page and mention specialist items when discussing your quote.

Are furniture dismantling and assembly included?

Dismantling and assembly depend on the furniture and the scope of the quote. Tell us which wardrobes or beds need taking apart and where they should go at the new address. We can also discuss furniture assembly and dismantling as a separate service, then record the agreed scope in the moving plan.

Can you move us if there is no lift in the building?

Stair width, floors, item size and access help us choose a method. If a large item cannot use the stairs, an exterior lift may be an option, subject to address conditions and required permissions. Send both buildings' floor and lift details when you request a quote.

Cover and documents

Which removals authorisations does Atasoy Nakliyat hold?

Atasoy Nakliyat holds the K3 domestic removals authorisation and an international carriage authorisation. We do not state a code for the international one. During your enquiry, we can explain the process and information needed for either type of move. For details, see international removals.

How is removals insurance arranged?

Atasoy Nakliyat does not sell insurance. If you want cover, we arrange it through insurance companies or brokers we work with; cover is subject to the policy terms. You may need to provide an inventory, declared values and existing photographs. Tell us before moving day. See insured removals for details.

What should I do if I notice damage?

Check your belongings on delivery and promptly tell the team if you notice damage. If cover was arranged, record the damage and delivery condition, then follow the policy's notification steps; any assessment is subject to its terms. Photographs and the inventory may help when discussing the matter. Clarify the process with the team before moving day.

How should I prepare valuables?

Where possible, keep jewellery, cash, personal documents and small valuables with you. Tell us about specialist items in advance. For a piano, safe or delicate item, measurements, approximate weight, floors and access at both addresses help us plan. These need a separate assessment from an ordinary box; share details for piano and safe moving.

Special circumstances

How long does an intercity move take?

We cannot promise a fixed delivery time. The distance between cities, access at both addresses, the moving plan and road conditions affect the estimate. Tell us your timing requirements when requesting a quote; we can discuss a moving and delivery window for that job. Read about long-distance moving.

Can I store belongings before or after my move?

We can discuss adding temporary storage to your moving plan. The collection date, how long you expect to need storage and the eventual delivery address help shape the arrangement. Review our storage page and tell us what you need when requesting a quote so we can clarify the details in advance.

Can you move a piano or a safe?

A piano or safe needs an individual assessment because it may be heavy or delicate. Share the item, approximate dimensions, current floor, access at both addresses and a photo if available. This helps us plan a method. Read about piano and safe moving, and mention particular access conditions when discussing your quote.

How should I prepare for an international move?

Share both addresses, an inventory and the destination country; the route is fixed at quote time. We plan a survey, export packing and customs paperwork prepared with you; the journey may include a road or sea leg. Customers are typically asked for passport or residence documents and an inventory list. Discuss international removals with us.

Can I arrange a move for just a few items?

Yes. Send the number and dimensions of the items, both addresses, and floor and lift details. A sofa, appliance, aquarium or a few pieces of furniture can be planned as a single-item move on a vehicle or hourly basis, depending on the items and access. See part-load moving for options.

Where to next?

Tell us where from, where to and when. A few photos are usually enough for a quote.
