Single-Item Removals

You do not need to book a whole-home removal to move one item. We plan the move of a sofa, fridge or aquarium around the floors, lifts and delivery details.

Bought a sofa, need a fridge delivered elsewhere or moving an aquarium? A single-item move covers jobs like these. We ask about the item, access at both addresses and the handover, then discuss the scope using photos and address details.

A single-item move differs from part-load removals, which can include several items. The item and both endpoints help us discuss an hourly or vehicle-based plan. For second-hand goods, we can coordinate collection and delivery with the buyer and seller.

What single-item removals include

  • Moving a sofa, settee or individual piece of furniture
  • Transporting a fridge or another household appliance between addresses
  • Assessing an aquarium's dimensions and current condition before planning its move
  • Preparing and protecting the item for transport and placing it in the vehicle
  • Leaving the agreed item at the specified point in the new address

Tell us in advance if an item needs dismantling or reassembly. The relevant authorised service should handle electrical, water or gas connections. For an aquarium, share whether the tank, stand and contents need separate handling so we can clarify the scope.

Planning a single-item move

Send a photo or short video, approximate measurements and both addresses on WhatsApp. Include the floor, lift, stair width and entrance details at both ends. Check whether the item fits through the doors and lift so we can discuss any access issue in advance.

For second-hand goods, agree a collection time with the person handing over and receiving the item. Share any access or appointment rules at the collection point so we can plan the handover order.

We can plan by vehicle or by the hour, based on the item, floors and lifts, distance, and any dismantling or packing. Request a survey through our contact page, or send photos and addresses on WhatsApp.

What happens on moving day

We check the item dimensions and route against the information provided. Sofas are wrapped in suitable protective material and positioned in the vehicle to limit movement. The relevant service should handle appliance disconnection and reconnection.

Before loading, we check the route out and vehicle access. We place the item where requested at delivery. For second-hand handovers, both parties should be available at the agreed address.

An aquarium may need separate assessment because its dimensions or contents affect how it is moved. Share photos, measurements and a list of the parts so we can confirm the scope in advance.

What affects the price

The price depends on the item's type, size and weight, distance, and floor, lift and stair access at both buildings. Dismantling, reassembly, packing and any separate assessment also affect the scope. Send a photo, both addresses and access details to discuss an hourly or vehicle-based plan.

Preparing before the move

  • Take photos of the item from different angles and include approximate measurements.
  • Share the floor and lift details for the collection and delivery addresses.
  • Check the item's dimensions against doors, stairs and lift access.
  • For a second-hand handover, agree the collection time and delivery point with the buyer and seller.
  • Tell us the current condition of any fridge, other appliance or aquarium.

Frequently asked questions

Do you move a single sofa or fridge?

Yes. Send a photo, both addresses and floor and lift details to discuss a plan.

Is a single-item move the same as a part-load move?

A single-item move is for one item. For several pieces of furniture or boxes, see part-load removals.

Can you collect an item I bought second-hand from the seller?

Send both addresses and a time that works for both people. We will plan the handover order around those details.

What information do you need for an aquarium move?

Share photos and measurements of the tank, its stand and other parts, and its current condition. We can then clarify the scope.

Where to next?

Tell us where from, where to and when. A few photos are usually enough for a quote.
