Furniture Assembly and Dismantling
We can include wardrobe dismantling, bedroom furniture assembly and flat-pack assembly in your move, or arrange them as a separate service.
Furniture assembly and dismantling can be booked on their own or as part of a move. We can assemble flat-pack furniture or reassemble existing pieces in another room.
What furniture assembly and dismantling include
The work depends on furniture type and condition. We can dismantle wardrobes and bedroom furniture, protect the parts and reassemble them at the new address. For flat-pack items, we assemble the supplied components; please provide the instruction manual and fittings if available.
When dismantling a wardrobe, shelves, doors and connectors are separated. Keeping small screws and fittings together with the relevant item makes it easier to identify where each part belongs during reassembly. If you need kitchen cabinets dismantled, tell us in advance how they are fixed to the wall. Disconnecting or reconnecting plumbing and electrical services is not part of this furniture service; those connections need a qualified tradesperson or technical service provider.
How we plan the service
We first discuss which furniture needs dismantling or assembly, where the work will take place and whether a move is involved. Photos, approximate measurements, any available instruction manual and information about both addresses help us define the plan. If there is a move, we arrange the assembly sequence around the layout at the new home and note priorities such as setting up the bedroom first.
Wall-fixed cupboards, narrow staircases and lift dimensions can affect how the work is carried out. You can show us these details in photos or a short video, or request a survey if needed. We can also include packing services to help protect furniture and its parts during the move.
What happens on the day
Before work starts, we check the furniture and clear work area. Contents should be removed. We separate components and protect edges and surfaces. The instruction manual and existing fittings guide reassembly. If the work is part of a move, we secure the parts in the vehicle and take them to the agreed room.
Once assembly is complete, we review the furniture's position and visible parts with you. For other household belongings, see our home removals page.
What affects the scope of work
The scope depends on the number and size of items, their fittings, the components to be handled and access at both addresses. Discuss wall-fixed units, narrow access and missing manuals in advance. A move, packing or work in several rooms also affects the plan. We confirm the items from photos or a survey and discuss any scope change before proceeding.
Preparing for the work
- Empty wardrobes and drawers, and mention any fragile shelves separately.
- Have the instruction manual and any spare fittings ready.
- Tell us whether furniture is fixed to the wall and whether kitchen cabinets have service connections.
- Remove small items from the work area and make space in the room where the furniture will go.
- Send photos or videos, both addresses and the work you need on WhatsApp, or request a survey through our contact page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book furniture assembly without a move?
Yes. We can arrange furniture assembly and dismantling as a separate service. Send photos and tell us which item needs work and at which address.
Can you dismantle and reassemble kitchen cabinets?
We can discuss dismantling and assembling the cabinet furniture. We do not disconnect or reconnect sinks, water lines, electricity or built-in appliances; please arrange those separately with the relevant tradesperson or technical service provider.
What should I send for flat-pack assembly?
Send a photo of the item, its instruction manual if available, details of the fittings and the address where it will be assembled. Include the make or model if you know it.
Can you dismantle wardrobes during a move and reassemble them at the new home?
Yes. We identify the items and destination rooms in advance, then include the assembly sequence in the moving plan. Send the furniture and move details together.
Where to next?
Tell us where from, where to and when. A few photos are usually enough for a quote.
