Removals between İstanbul and Van

Distance and time computed with OSRM on OpenStreetMap data from our Sancaktepe base to Van city centre (2026-10-01); lorry speed, breaks and weather are not included. Population is the TÜİK ADNKS figure as recorded on Wikidata. Population and migration: TÜİK, Address-Based Population Registration System and Internal Migration Statistics 2025 (reuse permitted with attribution). Climate: NASA POWER monthly climatology 2001–2020 for the roughly 50 km grid cell containing the city centre; coastal and mountain differences are averaged within the cell. Route from İstanbul to Van

From Sancaktepe, the route follows the O-7 Northern Marmara and O-4 TEM / Anatolian motorways, then the D100 İstanbul–Ankara / Black Sea state road and D300 Kayseri–Malatya–Van corridor. The distance to Van is about 1,495 km; uninterrupted driving is estimated at 1,089 minutes, or roughly 18 hours, excluding loading, breaks, traffic, weather and unloading. O-7 and O-4 tolls are considered in the quotation.

We plan two travel days with driver rest. Once we know the addresses, inventory and date, we agree the collection and delivery windows; they are not planned for the same day.

Who moves to Van

In TÜİK's 2025 Internal Migration Statistics, among stated reasons for moves into Van excluding "other" and "unknown", about 27 % related to joining a household member, 25 % to better housing and living conditions, and 15 % to education. These figures describe reasons, not an individual move's volume. Ask about part-load moving for a room or selected items. Van had more people moving out than in, with a net rate of −18.04 per thousand. We also regularly serve the Van-to-İstanbul direction and plan each job from its addresses and inventory.

Planning the delivery window

An address outside Van centre adds distance. We set separate windows for collection, travel and delivery, allowing for the two-day plan and driver rest. Part-load moving may suit a smaller load, subject to dates and delivery order. If the home is not ready, ask about storage. Traffic, weather or building waits may shift the plan, so we do not promise an exact arrival time. See our long-distance moving guide.

What to consider in Van

A delivery beyond Van centre adds distance; share the district and full address. In Eastern Anatolia on Lake Van, access to a central lakeside home may differ from an inland address. We check entrances, stairs, goods lifts and vehicle stopping space at both properties. Photos help us assess whether exterior-lift moving is suitable.

Packing and vehicle

For a long journey, we wrap furniture, label dismantled parts and secure the load in a covered vehicle. Fragile items need suitable boxes marked by room; if packing yourself, close them and put heavy contents in smaller boxes. Ask about our packing services. Tell us if furniture needs assembly in Van or an exterior lift may be needed; we check each building separately.

Winter travel to Van

For Van centre, the table above shows about 82 frost days from December to February and a coldest-month minimum average of −24.8 °C. These NASA POWER 2001–2020 figures are not a daily forecast. We consider the winter-tyre season and check conditions near departure. Allowing a buffer day may help if ice or closures affect the route; we also check loading access and protection in the covered vehicle.

What affects the price

The quotation reflects volume, floors and lifts, the district, packing or dismantling and route class; O-7 and O-4 tolls are included in the route assessment. See pricing guidance, use the calculator, or send the inventory and both addresses via contact.

Frequently asked questions

Do you also move from Van to İstanbul?

Yes. We plan moves from Van to İstanbul as well. Share the departure district, delivery address, floors and inventory so we can agree a suitable journey window.

Can I send one item to Van?

Ask about part-load options for one item or a small load. Shared vehicle space depends on the departure date and delivery order.

Can you move belongings to Van in winter?

The season alone does not decide it. We review road conditions and access at both buildings near the date, allowing flexibility for uncertain weather.

What if my new address is not ready?

Mention the gap when requesting a quotation. We can discuss storage and the delivery timing together.

Where to next?

Tell us where from, where to and when. A few photos are usually enough for a quote.
