For a move north-east from İstanbul, the route ends in Ankara, a provincial centre in Central Anatolia. University, a new post or a change in family circumstances may lead to a relocation. We also collect in Ankara for moves back to İstanbul, with dates and belongings assessed for that individual job.

The route from İstanbul to Ankara

The lorry departs Sancaktepe on O-7 Northern Marmara Motorway, joins O-4 TEM / Anatolian Motorway and then takes D750 Ankara–Adana state road into Ankara centre. We allow for relevant toll roads in the quote without giving a figure.

the table above puts uninterrupted driving at around four hours and thirteen minutes. That is road time only: loading, congestion, rest and unloading sit outside it. Collection and travel can fall on one day, but the handover date depends on the crew's start, pauses and the building's access hours. We revisit seasonal conditions close to departure. Use the intercity moving guide for preparation, or see long-distance removals.

Who moves to Ankara

The three leading stated reasons among arrivals in Ankara in 2025 were household dependence at about 23 %, better housing and living conditions at about 21 %, and education at about 17 %. They may reflect a move to join family, a change of home or a university start, each with a different inventory and set of arrangements; the categories do not explain any one person's move. A student moving a room's belongings can ask about part-load moving, while a full household move needs access details for both properties. TÜİK İç Göç İstatistikleri 2025 gives these shares from reasons reported by people moving into Ankara.

How we plan the delivery window

The calendar starts with the loading slot and the receiving property's availability. We then fit road time, rest and the planned unloading order around those constraints. Each move has its own window; a queue, traffic or a restricted entry period may shift the sequence.

If only part of a household is travelling, compare the part-load option with a dedicated vehicle. A gap between leases can be discussed alongside storage; tell us the handover date and the building's permitted hours.

Districts of Ankara: distance from İstanbul

If the delivery address is outside the city centre, distance and driving time depend on the district. The figures below are road estimates from our Sancaktepe base to each district centre; the quote plan weighs this distance together with the access at the address.

Planning for the Ankara end

Our route endpoint is the Ankara provincial centre. An address in another district takes the vehicle beyond that point, so we add its distance and access notes to the job. Ankara is a university city; moves can also follow a work transfer or household change. The dates and load are assessed case by case.

Before dispatch, we need to know the entrance layout, lift dimensions, floor and stopping place. Some buildings require management approval or a specific arrival procedure. Outlying deliveries bring another road section; we check the conditions relevant to the selected date rather than presume them.

Packing and vehicle

We prepare the load in practical groups: protect delicate items, wrap furniture, keep bolts and fittings with dismantled pieces, and mark cartons by room. Everything travels in a covered vehicle, secured for the route and arranged so the planned offload is workable.

At each property we check the staircase, lift and outside handling space. An exterior lift may be considered for an item that cannot pass through the building. If you ask for cover, we can explain insured removals: it is arranged through partner providers and depends on policy terms.

Winter on the Ankara route

NASA POWER's 2001–2020 climate average shows about 79 frost days from December to February in the grid cell containing the provincial centre, with the coldest month's mean minimum rounding to -22 °C. These are long-term cell averages, not a forecast for every Ankara neighbourhood or the travel date. During the winter tyre season, we consider current road information from the İstanbul departure through the motorway stages and the approach to Ankara. Cold or ice can affect driving and access at the address, so we keep the delivery window responsive and discuss a buffer day in the move plan.

What determines the price

For the quotation, we look at how much is moving, both buildings' floors and lifts, lorry access, packing, furniture work and the preferred date. An address beyond Ankara centre changes the mileage. Relevant motorway tolls form part of the route calculation.

An item list, photos or video, both addresses and floor information give us a starting point. Use the volume calculator to organise the inventory; we confirm scope from the material or a survey. Further factors are in the removal pricing guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can you move one item to Ankara?

We need its dimensions plus collection and delivery access. A smaller consignment can be discussed as part-load moving.

Do you move from Ankara to İstanbul too?

Yes. We can begin at the Ankara property, then plan the route and receiving arrangements in İstanbul.

Can delivery take place on the same day?

The drive estimate by itself cannot settle that. We first account for collection work, pauses, traffic and access at the destination, then agree a suitable window.

Can you hold my belongings until the new home is ready?

If the move-out precedes key collection, we can consider storage. Tell us both dates when requesting the plan.

Where to next?

Tell us where from, where to and when. A few photos are usually enough for a quote.
