Removals between İstanbul and Rize
For a move to Rize, we consider the long Black Sea journey, the coastal route and loading access at both ends.
Rize lies on the Black Sea coast; this route ends at the provincial centre. We move in both directions, with extra distance for another district. Education, a new home or joining family may prompt a move, but the inventory determines the load.

Distance and time computed with OSRM on OpenStreetMap data from our Sancaktepe base to Rize city centre (2026-10-01); lorry speed, breaks and weather are not included. The road from İstanbul to Rize
From Sancaktepe, we take the O-7 and O-4 TEM / Anatolian Motorway, then D100 and D795 to the D010 Black Sea coastal road and Rize. The table above gives about 1,106 km and over twelve hours of uninterrupted driving, excluding loading and delivery. We plan an overnight stop or two-day journey with driver rest and set a job-specific delivery window. Motorway tolls are included in the quotation; weather and traffic can change the schedule.
Who is moving to Rize
TÜİK's 2025 figures show that around 23 % of arrivals in Rize cited education, around 21 % dependence on a household or family member, and around 20 % better housing and living conditions. A student arriving during term may need a single room or a few belongings moved between a dormitory and a flat; we discuss suitable arrangements after checking the date and volume. For someone joining family, it helps to decide which furniture will fit and which items need storage. For a home change, the inventory and access at the new address guide the vehicle plan. We offer part-load moving for a small quantity and storage for belongings that need to wait between dates.
How we arrange the delivery window
We schedule İstanbul loading, the journey and driver rest, then check unloading access in Rize. The job-specific delivery window may change with traffic, weather or building conditions; a district adds distance beyond the centre. Ask whether the load suits part-load moving, and send both addresses, photographs and dates through contact.
At the Rize end
An inland district can add distance beyond Rize centre and change the vehicle approach. We check the full address, carrying distance, floor, slope, entrance and parking from details or photographs. We assess lift and vehicle access at the İstanbul collection property too.
Packing and vehicle
For the long journey, we protect fragile items and furniture, label cartons and secure heavy pieces. A closed-body vehicle helps shield belongings from external conditions. We check access at both ends before considering an external lift. Read about insured removals; policy terms apply.
Winter journeys to Rize
Rize's coast is mild and wet in winter; the roughly 51 frost days and the -14 °C monthly minimum in the table above describe the high ground on the Kaçkar side of the 50 km grid cell that contains the provincial centre (NASA POWER 2001–2020), not your flat by the sea. On this route the winter watch-points are the inland stretch of the D100 around Bolu and Ilgaz and the heavy rain on the D010 coast road after Samsun, rather than the destination. In the winter-tyre season we prepare the vehicle accordingly, discuss a buffer day for the inland section up front and check the current road situation together on departure day; a covered spot for loading or unloading on the coast goes into the plan where one exists.
What affects the cost
The quotation reflects volume, packing, floors and lifts, vehicle access, date and the 1,106 km route. Tolls, driver rest and overnight arrangements matter; a district adds distance beyond the centre. Share photographs, addresses and dates, then read how moving prices are calculated or use the calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Do you move from Rize to İstanbul too?
Yes, we plan moves from Rize to İstanbul as well. The inventory, floors and vehicle access at both properties are useful starting details.
Does an address outside Rize centre add distance?
It can. Once we have the district and full address, we assess the route beyond the centre and vehicle access at the destination.
How many days does this journey take?
The uninterrupted driving figure excludes loading and unloading. We set a job-specific delivery window that accounts for overnight rest, the driver and access at both addresses.
What should I tell you before a winter move to Rize?
Share the road, parking and sheltered waiting arrangements at both ends. We can review the calendar allowance in light of weather and road conditions.
