Removals between İstanbul and Konya
A move between İstanbul and Konya in Central Anatolia is planned around the distance and the conditions at both addresses.
Konya is an inland Central Anatolian destination. Our team sets out from Sancaktepe in İstanbul and also moves customers in the reverse direction. A job change, education or family circumstances may prompt a move; we confirm each brief from the addresses and inventory.

Distance and time computed with OSRM on OpenStreetMap data from our Sancaktepe base to Konya city centre (2026-10-01); lorry speed, breaks and weather are not included. Population is the TÜİK ADNKS figure as recorded on Wikidata. Population and migration: TÜİK, Address-Based Population Registration System and Internal Migration Statistics 2025 (reuse permitted with attribution). Climate: NASA POWER monthly climatology 2001–2020 for the roughly 50 km grid cell containing the city centre; coastal and mountain differences are averaged within the cell. Route: from İstanbul to Konya
From Sancaktepe, the lorry follows the O-7 Northern Marmara and O-4 TEM / Anatolian motorways, then the O-20 Ankara ring road and O-21 Ankara–Niğde Motorway. The D715 state road leads into Konya centre. The route is about 672 km; uninterrupted driving is estimated at 6 hours 52 minutes. This is not the team's working day or a delivery promise: breaks, traffic, loading and driver rest need separate allowance. Motorway tolls are included in the quotation planning.
At more than 600 km, this is planned as an overnight, two-day move, with driver rest included rather than squeezing loading, travel and unloading into one day. For a smaller load, ask us about part-load moving. January's average climate reading is below freezing, so we also leave room in the travel and delivery window for winter conditions.
Who is moving to Konya
TÜİK's 2025 figures list family-related migration (about 24 %) and education (about 23 %) as the leading reasons for arrivals to Konya; better housing accounts for about 15 % (TÜİK, 2025). This includes household moves and people changing home or room for education, with different load sizes. A single room may suit part-load moving; a family move needs a room-by-room inventory and an assembly discussion. The table above gives province-wide reasons, not moves specifically between Konya and İstanbul. We also ask about job transfers during the survey.
How we plan the delivery window
We agree the collection date and building access in İstanbul, then plan the road leg and unloading in Konya. The outline may include loading, an overnight rest and delivery the next day; each job has its own window. Traffic, weather, destination access or a lift queue can affect it. For a small shipment, we consider part-load moving after checking dimensions, vehicle fit and who can receive the goods.
Considerations at the Konya end
The route ends in Konya city centre; delivery elsewhere in the province adds onward distance and a check of the final roads. Central Anatolia's continental climate makes wind and winter-morning conditions relevant when confirming a date. We also check floors, entrances, goods lifts and stopping space at both properties.
Packing and vehicle
For the long journey, we label cartons by room, protect furniture from rubbing and secure dismantled parts in an enclosed vehicle. Fragile items and fittings are marked separately. If access is difficult at either address, we assess exterior-lift moving. On request, we discuss insured removals and policy terms with the quotation.
Winter on the Konya route
NASA POWER's 2001–2020 data for Konya centre shows about 70 frost days in December–February and an average daily minimum near -19 °C in the coldest month (NASA POWER). These are climate averages, not a date-specific forecast. We check winter-tyre season and current roads before departure, leave a buffer in the delivery window and load cold-sensitive goods accordingly.
What affects the quotation
The quotation reflects volume, floors and lift access at both ends, the 672 km route, packing and date. We also discuss an overnight stop, difficult access or an exterior lift. Start with our calculator or long-distance moving guide; we confirm the plan from the addresses and inventory.
Frequently asked questions
